Just minutes from Whitefish, the Great House at Stillwater Mountain Lodge accommodates up to 10 people, making it an ideal setting for your group or family vacation. The largest of the three units on the property with its own private covered deck, the Great House is a rustic log cabin with the modern comforts you love.
The Great House has 3 bedrooms, a loft and 2.5 baths. It has everything you need to ensure your experience is nothing short of spectacular. You'll find a rustic log cabin feel with a relaxing living areas, a fully- equipped kitchen, and ample seating for your family and friends at the kitchen table. The master suite hosts a cozy king bed and a couch that makes into a full sleeper. This master suite also has a spacious bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and large shower. Two other bedrooms on the other side of the Great house have queen beds in each room with an shared bathroom. One of these bedrooms has stairs that leads to a loft where there are 2 single mattresses ideal for older children. The other bedroom also has a comfy couch that fold out into a queen bed. Right off the living room is a long deck that looks into the Stillwater Forest and mountains. Right outside the front door you'll find a shared BBQ grill, shared picnic tables and shared fire pit area.

With 16 private acres bordering the Stillwater State Forest (in the foothills of the Whitefish Range of the Rocky Mountains) and an on-site loop trail, outdoor recreational activities abound at Stillwater Mountain Lodge. The Whitefish Trail: Beaver Lake Trailhead is just across the property, and links you to miles and miles of wilderness to explore along scenic, carefully-maintained routes. Whether hiking or mountain biking endless trails in the summer or cross-country skiing or snowshoeing in the winter, your Montana adventure all starts from the front door.
A short hike brings you to Murray Lake, a secluded wilderness deep-water lake that provides plenty of opportunity to fish, swim, boat or kayak / canoe. Beaver Lake and numerous smaller lakes are just up the road in the Stillwater State Forest. Large game is abundant in the area, and whether it's hiking, biking, hunting or fishing you're after, Stillwater Mountain Lodge is your spot.

For the summer months, the Great House has two window AC units and fans to make your stay comfortable. In the winter months, the road leading to the property is diligently plowed by the county up to the trailhead, paths and driveways are maintained, and the property is kept ready for your arrival. As you would expect, there are heaters in every room, the covered deck for relaxing, and nearby trails are groomed and ready for classic cross country skiing or fat snow tire biking. Check with Whitefish Bike Retreat (across the street) for trail conditions, grooming and rentals.
What to be aware of: No smoking or pets are allowed on this property. There is a limit of 4 vehicles for this unit unless otherwise approved. Maximum occupancy at all times for this home is 10 adult guests. Exterior cameras are provided for safety and security. Please come and have a good time, but remember that behavior that is disrespectful or disruptive will result in forfeiting the remainder of your stay. Stay on marked paths during snow and avoid overhangs. Additional liability waiver terms apply.

**IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING GLACIER NATIONAL PARK. Beginning May 28th through September 6th, 2021, a ticket and parking pass will be required for the Going-To-The-Sun Road entry. This entry includes West Glacier, St. Mary, and Camas Road. Tickets must be purchased online at www.nps.gov.
